Ok so I recently bought a 96gst Spyder sight unseen (106,000 on body, 25,000 on engine) through a good friend of mine while I was in Iraq with the Army. When I got home on mid-tour leave I was happy with my purchase. The car had been neglected as usual and had been sitting for over a year. The mods I know of are 16G, Greddy tube and fin fmic, 6bolt swap, new trans, some sort of cams (guy said stage 2 whatever he conciders stage 2 I dont know...) 2"springs with aftermarket shocks, Unknown tune,I belive a stock fuel system, broken ebc and now running off wastegate. Car needs some tlc. I have purchased new carpet, 97-99 front end conversion, boost leak test passed, new wires and plugs, new center console, removed broken ebc, new ds mirror, new top, apexi dp and N1 set up and thats about it. Im now back in Iraq an am going to order Apexi Wide Band, Autometer boost guage, Pocketlogger set up, safc2, new rims. Here are some pics when I first got her and after I installed the new front end and also of the rims I plan on getting. Ideas are welcomed so please help me out guys.. Basically my goal is a nice car that is respected because of the attention to detail that I have applied (im not listing everything I have done to keep it short). I want a fun to drive (quicker spooling) set up and Im shooting for 300-350whp. Im keeping her silver with the black top but like I said if you have some ideas or pics to share, by all means please do!! Thanks for your comments and input. -Chris

Ohh here are the rims I was thinking about. 18"x 7.5" +35 offset. I was thinking of going with a 225-40-18 tire because of clearance due to the offset. They offer it in a 45+ offset but I dont that will give it the filled up wheel well look Im going for. Please let me know what you think..

Looks great already! Just paint it, and clean up the engine bay and it will look awesome. Not too sure about those new wheels as I have never seen anything like that on these cars. The wheels thats on the car dont look too bad.

With that 16g, you should only need to upgrade your fuel system, 750s and an afpr, and a good tune to hit the numbers you want.

nice buy as ^ said just clean it up abit and paint it and that should be good but! ild get the 97-99 rear style bumper to go with that front end as its alot nicer the the 95-96 what colour do you think you will do it in?

Nice looking car man keep up the good work clean up the engine bay a and upgrade fuel system with a 16g and ull be getting that power with no problem dont forget before upgrading do maintenance work.

nice car! id just paint the front end parts to match. You could use the 16g to meet your goals with the supporting mods. Nice find!

Nice buy bro. Keep the 16g, it will be enough to hit your hp goal, just upgrade your fuel system and get it tuned. Also like evryone else has said, just repaint the car and it will look good. In my opinion before you paint it i'd say finish up the complete 97-99 conversion by getting the side skirts and rear bumper. Good luck with the project.

The car looks good and sets real nice.

I think you should go ahead and do the rest of the 99 conversion.

Wheels look good too! keep up the good work.

Well thanks for all of the nice comments. It really has given me even more motivation to spend my excess money on her to get here straight. I can picture it finished but as we all know, that is down a long road of money, time, and more money. heh I think the biggest thing on my list of todo's once I get back from overseas in Mar. is pull the eng. and trans. and have it painted the oem color of silver. Then do a wire harness tuck upon reinstalling the drivetrain. Thanks again!!
