Oakville,
I just got a 1993 Talon Tsi FWD, its got 200,000km (125,000 miles) on it and its starting to show. The engine still runs well but it doesn't look so good. It handles decently as well but I think it could be better. So my question is what would be a better way to go:

a. Restore the car as close as I can to original before I even THINK about adding any mods.

or

b. Start modifying the car right away, replacing any parts that need replacing with performance parts. Take any repairs that may be necessary as they come.

or

c. Some combination of a and b?

It depends on what mods are you putting in. I would do a tune up first and maintenance before modding. Like ball joints, timing belt, water pump, plugs, etc. Stuff that are performance oriented like exhaust, intercooler pipes etc, can be replaced by performance stuff. Also there is a tuning guide on what to purchase first and it goes on sequence. You dont want to buy cams on a stock turbo with a stock exhaust. LOL!
