Resonator robbing power?

I have a www.kteller.com resonator in my exhaust system. The inside of it has bumps that are randomly spaced somewhat. The exhaust is a 3" system. Could this rob power? David Buschur told of a resonator robbiung power big time, anyone else have experience with them, good or bad? Thanks, Mark

Dyno tests that we have ran for different exhaust setups, show a resonator on a good flowing exhaust showed very minimal performance loss.

Also, IMO, they don't quiet down much... you might want to get a better muffler. There are some good flowing ones out there that won't rob much power.

I use a Magnaflow, 18"x8"x5", dual 3" outlets for tips. The resonator is not for noise suppression but too eliminate the drone and it is working but necks down to 2.25". I have found a Walker bullet muffler that is perforated and remains 3" throughout. That will probably be my next step. Thanks, Mark
