[RESOLVED] Yay it starts! now onto tranny problems

ok so after doing a rewire project over pretty much the entire car getting rid of nonsense. now my clutch wont work. i can see the bar coming out of the slave cylinder pumping when someone pushes on the clutch. i bleed it and it has fluid.

We need a little more information than that. Can you actually feel pressure when you touch the pedal? What happens when you try to put it into gear? So all you did was a rewire on the car? What else did you touch?

it doesnt really feel like i have a clutch but i know its working somewhat at least to the slave cylinder it is. all i did was a rewire/fuse box relocation but i dont see how that would affect anything in the tranny. i tried to put it in reverse (the only way i can move it at the moment) and it just kills the car if i try to put it in slowly it just grinds

You may be able to see the piston coming out of the slave, but is it coming out far enough? You said that you've bled it, but have you done a complete flush? I know on my car the fluid had absorbed too much water and I was having issues getting it into gear as it would just grind. If this ends up being the case, you should also look at replacing the seal on the master cylinder cap.

how far does it need to come out? and i will flush it tomorrow it has been sitting for the winter

I'm not sure how far it would have to come out as I can't find an actual measurement for it in my service manual.
