I have a 1991 Eagle Talon, Non-Turbo, FWD. I was told when I bought it that the fuel pump went and a new one would be needed to get the car running. Today I came home went into my garage and started it. It idled for around 20 seconds with my foot on the clutch then pooched out. I started it again same thing happened, again and again. Then I started it let off the clutch and gave it some gas. The Rpm gauge shot up to 2-3 grand then dropped and it pooched again. Could this still be a fuel pump?! Thanks,

it could be a fuel pump upon many other things.

could possibly be the fuel pump but when my pump went out it ran one time for about 2 seconds then i had nothin it would crank over but not actually fire, maybe check your injectors your fuel system could be dirty or bad gas, how long was the car sitting before you bought it?

The guy says it was a fuel pump that went and it was sitting for 2 weeks.

Check your fuel filter. It may be clogged.

sounds like something is clogged, you should replace the filter and get some good gas.

As well as a fuel system treatment too, I'm going with the others and saying a clog.
