I searched the forums, no info...

I installed a front strut bar on the shock towers, on the two bolts that are closer to the front of the car. The bar has the standard slight upward curve at each side of the bar pointed so it's closer to the hood. So it's like this:

../********\..

When I close the hood it closes but it hits the hood, so that theres a big hump in the hood.

FYI it's a cheap Ractive bar. I ordered it from Nopi, for my car/model/year. Am I doing something wrong? Has this happened do anyone else here? Besides the fact that they possible sent me the wrong one any ideas?

Thanks alot.

It looks like you have it backwards. Typically, the side that dips in goes on the passenger side.

Ok I am back. I have a problem. I can't get the black bracket to have the cut out piece around this extra bolt on the tower. Heres a picture of the evil bolt.

Its a flip turn? IDK :(

I have the same problem with my bar, I just tried this last week. That bolt is the battery tie down if I remember correctly, don't cut it. Even reversing the bar won't help, it still hits the hood frame. I read in another thread about mounting the bar like you have it and actually taking the bar off and turning it around. I haven't tried that yet, but it's worth a shot. Only thing I can think of is to cut out the spot where the hood support hits the bar but I don't want to do that.

Well I am off to a buddies house and we are going to try to work on it.
I will take some pictures etc. and when its fixed get back on here and make a write up.

Well I have got it to fit now. First I had to turn the bar completely around. Then when you close the hood you have to let it fall and the bar kind of cushions it so hood doesn't hit so hard.
