Just wanted to give some insight of what mods I done this weekend that seemed to help out a lot with slow spool and idle problems. My car would idle surge real bad around 11-1200 rpm. The spool was also incrediably slow. I did the 2g maf hack which is documented well on this site. Basically there are 4 honeycombs. I removed just the bottom one. If you remove the side ones it will not idle at all. They just simply pull out with a small pair of needle nose pliers. I also hacked off my dump tube. If you looked at it while it was off the car it seemed like it was blocking a lot of airflow. Now you don't have the BOV sound anymore, but both of these combined seemed to make a hell of a difference for me. My idle is perfect now about 650rpm at any time, never deviates. My turbo also seems to spool about 500rpm sooner and it builds fast.
This made my car fun to drive again. Before this I was just letting it sit in the driveway and driving something else to work.
