So, I finally hooked the SAFC 2 that I've had sitting around for about of month. I'm having problems getting the car to even idle right now. All the settings are correct (as far as I understood from all my reading), but the car won't idle very well at all.

Secondly, I'm getting a knock reading even though I don't have the knock wire hooked up to anything. It's just securely taped off alone. When the car was running, it was giving me a knock count of 200 or so. Does it always do this?

The throttle position reads fine and the unit has good power and grounds. I've tested those with a multi-meter.

I also adjusted the BISS to see if it was just because of the ECU being reset. That didn't have any effect.

And I tapped the correct wire for power, but the SAFC doesn't come on until the key is in the on position. Is this correct too?

I can hook up Evoscan and get a reading from the LC-1, but I am just trying to get some info first.

(I'm still running the stock 450 injectors, so right now, all corrections are a 0%).

EDIT: UPDATE!!!

I just went out and hooked the LC-1 up to the laptop. I'm getting AFRs of about 16.5-19 during idle. Even adjusting the low throttle slider for the 1000RPM set point has no effect. I know that the splicing in the air flow wires are secure.

EDIT 2:
This might also be an important bit of info. Since I took so long working out electrical gremlins in my car (LC-1 was draining battery) my open doors killed the battery. I have to jump the car to get it started since the battery only has 10.5 volts. The alternator brings it back up to 13 while it's running.

It's getting dark outside. I don't think I'm going to be able to work on it any more tonight. Should I just splice the stock airflow wires back together and see if it runs normally?

This is the log I got while letting my car idle for a min and a half. I didn't notice until I smoothed it out that it was slowly starting to richen up (ecu's doing, not mine).

Should I just start it and let it idle again to see if it keeps improving?

EDIT: UPDATE
I just went and tried it again. This time, I remembered to log Air Flow Hz and Timing Advance. I'm getting 0 Hz, so I'm guessing that somehow, something must not be set right. I do have the input and output of the SAFC hooked up right. I'm still at 16.5-19 AFR.

I got it all working fine. Turns out that the sensor type wasn't selected correctly. I don't know how, because I know I changed it to Karmanbefore, but when I went through the settings again it was wrong...

SOLUTION: Check to make sure the sensor is set on Karman!

It now idles fine. :hellyeah:
