So I've had some electrical issues with gauges suddenly not working properly and a cel that goes on and off for seemingly no reason. My oil pressure gauge was going to 80psi and just hovering there under any throttle and then my wideband was just reading dashes with the car running just fine. The car has aftermarket dash gauges that have their own epicenter and dimmer. I noticed that if I turn the dimmer way down that the gaues worked fine and no cel. So I figured I just need more amps and was about to do the alternator rewire.
When I pulled the fuse box I found a loose connector with 2 white wires just hanging out. I know it should be connected to the alternator fuse but I'm not sure which side - battery or alternator? Why would someone disconnect them in the first place?
I've got a small 1000 (max) amp powering just 1 sub, 3 aftermarket gauges, all four seats heated, and a remote starter wired in. Do I still need the bigger wire. I noticed the wires are 5 awg on them and there are two of them so wouldn't that be better than one 4 gauge wire even though it looks much bigger?
Sorry for the long post but I've had so many issues that I don't won't to hook them back up and mess another thing up.
Thanks!
