I put an MBC on my '93 (with a 6 bolt) AWD. And after we got it hooked up, we installed a gauge, and went for some pulls. First pull it hit 20 pounds in 3rd gear, and I instantly let off. So we pulled over and adjusted it for a lower level. Well next pull in 3rd gear it hit 20 pounds again. So we went back home, and cut a coil outta the spring. It ran consistently 15 pounds.
And then a couple days later, the ring gear seperated from the flywheel.
Now I didn't link these together, but could the ring gear seperating from the flywheel have been caused by running 20 pounds on those two pulls?
I'm pretty sure its a stock flywheel on an engine with about 80k on it.
I know someone that ran 20 pounds on their stock 6 bolt for a few days and didn't run into the kind of trouble that I did.
Or could it have just been wear and tear or a defect?
TIA,
Sawyer
