Ok I need help. I am having nothing but problems with my steering pump. There is only two bolts to hold the pump down. One doesn't even want to screw in. It just keeps spinning and spinning. I can't bolt the pump down strong enough or get it straight since its basically one bolt holding it down. I also can't figure out how to get the belt on tighter. Its super loose right now. The haynes manual explains that in order to tighten the steering pump belt you loosen the bolts and pry the pump away and retighten the bolts. Is this correct?

Any help seriously appreciated.

The missing bolt is the pivot bolt. You need it.

The other two ... the stripped and the hidden lock it place when it is tensioned.

The top "stripped bolt" is MF244860 [48959J] (P/S Oil Pump Bolt, Washer Assembly, 8x4) = Qty 1
The other bolts are MB266696 [48959B] (P/S Oil Pump Bolt, Washer Assembly, 8x2) = Qty 3

Either you have the wrong bolt in the "stripped" location or the threads in the PS pump are stripped out and you will need to rethread it with a tap.

I found the problem with the bolt I thought was stripped. I pulled it out and it looks like it was stripping the threads. I removed it and it seemed ok, now it goes right in. I also found a bolt for the hole that's missing a bolt and it seems to go in. I don't think its the original bolt. But it seems to work.

I didn't even know there was a bolt underneath the pump on the right hand side. I guess that bolt is gone too. If I go to kragens with those bolt numbers, will I be provided the correct bolts?

Appreciate the help guys.
