[RESOLVED] Name that plug!

Just took out my fuel pump and rewire kit (I wasn't the one who installed it) And the relay was located on the firewall. It had a blue plug connected to pin 85 on the relay. Well long story short the car is running horribly. I took out the eprom/dsmlink, 660s, and fuel pump replacing everything back to stock now it hits a wall at 4k rpm and I'm wondering if this plug has anything to do with it. Have any ideas what the blue plug is for?

The blue plug is to test the fuel pump..To see if it's working.

Looks like there is two there one of them is for your fuel pump test. You can ground it and your fuel pump will kick on when you turn the key. That way you can test it. Not sure but I think that's what the black one is for. Maybe one of the 2g guys can back me up on that.

For some reason though, I believe this diagram has the plugs labeled backwards. No idea why I don't have the black one in my tech article though...

They've established that, but he had it permanently hooked up to the relay. Not just for testing the pump. He had the pump re-wired so it came on with the ignition on.

I was just going by what I had seen there. Us 1g guys only need one connector.

I was just going by what I had seen there. On the vfaq I linked to he doesn't show both of the connectors. I thought I was right when I said the black one.

I was the one that wrote the tech article that you linked to. I have no idea why I don't have the black one in there though. I'll have to check with my brother.

The only thing I can think of is that he could be using that terminal to turn on a relay to send power to the pump. Since as the VFAQ states it is at 12v when the ignition key is on.

To answer the original question. No that plug doesn't have anything to do with your car running bad. Those plugs should be disconnected unless using them for diagnostics. Your problem is something else.
