quick questions guys...I'm trying to take off my harmonic balancer(crankshaft pulley), and I removed the 4 small bolts...but there's the large crank bolt(has a square in the middle of it)...does that have to be taken off, or does the pulley slide out over that?? if it has to be taken off, how do you stop the crank from turning?? also, once it get it off, am I going to need a puller to get the pulley off the rest of the way??

The bolt in the middle does not have to be taken of the pulley goes over it. And to remove the pulley you just have to tap it with a rubber mallet or hammer and it will come off easily. And make sure that the crank does not spin counterclockwise wise as it might make your timing skip a tooth. I used a 1/2" ratchet to stop it from moving counterclockwise

that's what I thought, thanks. I tried tapping it a few times to no luck...but I'll try again...or maybe just go get a puller.

yah it popped off with a good few more good whacks with a rubber mallet...was inspecting for an oil leak, because i'm leaking somewhere on that side it seems, and thought I'd check under the timing cover...doesn't look like its leaking there...so must be my oil pan gasket...and found a leak in the factory oil return line....should I replace it with a braided stainless steel line? I had someone tell me 16g's don't like those stainless steel lines.
