So my tranny fill plug is stripped. I have tried almost everything including vise grips and its pretty much round now so i dont know how i am going to get it out.
Does anyone have any good suggestions?
or is there another spot i can fill my tranny? i was thinking of removing the drain plug draining all the fluid out then putting what the correct amount in from a different part in the tranny?
Anyone?

You could use heat and vise grips. Or you can fill it from the top but you won't know if you put too much in. I will get a picture of where you can fill it from when the sun comes out.

And so the fluid can drain out quicker. Just like having the hole open on the back of a gas can when pouring the gas out.

If you cant get it off with heat. I just filled mine up and it took almost 2 and half quarts. So its an estimate tho for yours but you can fill it in the breather. If you look through your passenger side wheel well, on the back side of the tranny is a breather plug, its rubber and it sticks up about half a inch.

I have tried vise grips and it didnt work and vise grips with heat.
i will try a pipe wrench today.
im gonna remove the drain plug and then fill it after its all drained. How much oil is everyone putting in theres after they drain it?
and the speedo hole will work?
i heard its bad to fill it from the breather?

tried the reverse sensor but i couldnt fill it out of there unless i did it really slow
i filled my tranny by filling it out of the speedsensor hole for anyone that needs to do it
i put 3 quarts in ### i took the tranny off and spilled alot
should i put more?

Wait... you didn't drain it:confused: Some leaked out and then you added 3 quarts? If so it has too much in it. Either way, it should take less than 2.5 quarts total.

Did you try the pipe wrench?

LOL i did a motor swap on the car and i leaked alot of tranny fluid out of it when i was moving it around
i did drain it and then i added 3 quarts
does that seem right
i tried the pipe wrench but i couldn't get it to work

heat heat heat.. And some pb blaster... it will come off if you have a good bite on the nut. Jack the car up and put something on the pipe wrench to act as a breaker bar. Something with a little length of course. Have someone hold the pipe wrench to keep that 'bite' on the nut. Trust me it will work. I took 2 days trying to get a stripped o2 sensor out. Not only was it stripped it was somewhat ceased.

heat heat heat.. And some pb blaster...

^^^^ This, over and over and over. If the full issue is just breaking it lose with a well fitting head.

If you get really desperate and the head of the bolt is stripped round, you could always try to beat a smaller American socket onto it after it is heated up. Then let it cool off with the socket on it. Reheat the area again and PB the shit out of it.

I would consider this a last resort effort only.

i figured it out
i took the speed sensor out of the back of the tranny and filled it there
that is where i reccomend everyone to do it if there fill plug is stripped
way easy!
