Obviously i know what a turbo does, but which side is the turbine and which is the compressor? Turbine sucks? Compressor blows? Anyways lets get to another point
Are the shafts of all mitsu turbos the same? Let take this for example...can you bore and a 16g and put a 20g shaft in with both turbines. Since the turbine wheel is the same just the compressor wheel is larger on the 20g. Sorry if this is a stupid confusing question :|

the exhaust(turbine) side is spun by the exhaust flowing over the fins, which turns the compressor side, compressing the air to the intake

you can put the turbine wheel and shaft from a 20 into a 16g as long as the 20 was a tdo5h 20. like was said, the 14b all 16g's the 18g and 20g all use the same turbine and shaft. the only exception is the tdo6 variants of the 18 and 20g.

just for an example i have read it takes about 10% of your horse power for every 100hp made to spin a supercharger.
a turbo uses only 1% for every 100 horse power made.

The compressor side (also known as the cold side) is the side where clean air is induced into the compressor housing and pressurized before being expelled through the compressor outlet into the intercooler pipes.

The turbine side (aka hot side) is where exhaust gases pour into the turbine inlet, exert force (via heat and pressure) onto the turbine wheel, spinning the turbine wheel, shaft, and compressor wheel, before exiting through the turbine outlet and O2 housing.

A 9b is a TD04 model turbo. A 14b is a TD05 model. They're very much not interchangeable. There are a few vendors out there that have modified/ported 16g's that come with 18g or 20g compressor wheels. But to do this yourself is asking for trouble, as it takes the knowledge of how to port the compressor housing to accommodate the larger wheel, as well as balancing the rotating assembly when reassembled.
