[RESOLVED] can a 94 mit eclipse and 93 eagle talon head be swapped?

yes the heads can be swapped as long as they are both from same engine sizes

well my talon is a 93 turbo tsi and i just need the head just needing to know if i was to get a head off a mit 94 does it have to come off a turboed engine? and does it have to be the same year?

Only the 93 and 94 heads (turbo or non turbo, as long as both cars are 4g63 varients) are interchangable. The 1.8L motor (SOHC) won't fit on a 4g63 block. pre 92.5 4g63's are 6 bolts and have larger head studs, which, the cylinder head, will still fit, but I would use those as a last resort.

thanks guys i knew the 1.8 liters wouldnt fit if thats what your talkin about only the 2.0s just needed to know if the non turboed heads would work for my turboed block

now only other issue i have is the pistons are all level any ideas?

yes, its normal because if you look in the pic, they are at mid stroke. so if you brought number 1 to tdc, then you would see that 2 and 3 are down

ok i know at some point the pistons will level out but are they all supposed to be at that level in the pic i know theres supposed to be 2 up and 2 down or is it just coincidence that they are all level when i took the head off.

but they ALL look level to me should i still check the crank?
