After swaping motors in my 99gst. I broke the bracket just under the battery that held on a caster looking deal with quite a few vaccum line, and after a vaccum delete, im missing some vaccum line on it and now it seems like gas from the area, im wondering is this the carcoal canisiter. If so how can i remove this completly.

It's part of the EVAP system. The gas fumes are being vented directly from the gas tank so this is not a particularly safe situation. You can search for EVAP delete if this is what you want to do but it may cause a CEL. The actual charcoal canister is under the front left bumper fascia on a '99.

I hav enot got a check engine light yet, and i have acouple lines hooked up to it still, but the big 1/2 lines is still hooked up to it. I searched but i could find a topic that actully showed removing that peice.

I found a coupel articales about removing its pretty much sounds like i need to put a check valve in it then tie it up somewhere. Im going to take the battery out tomorrow and try to figure it out.

If you unplugged any connectors, hook them back. Check the Tech Guide for Emissions removal.

Late model 98 and 99 FWDs don't have a charcoal canister (that I can find, either physically or on CAPS).

I know... I was confused for a long time too.

 Not even by the front bumper? WTF

Nope. When I did my emissions removal I was all like :confused::confused:. I checked around and all 98-99 GSTs and TSis were missing it. None of the owners had done emissions removal.
I have a JDM 2G GST and it doesn't have any emission related equipment, as soon as I switched from JDM ECU to 98(late)/99, plastic one, I got 5 errors, all emission related.

Got it all fixed, the big hose had been removed, and thats where the gas fumes had came from im guessing. I think this was the purge valve, when i did the vaccum delete, I removed the two hoses to the top of it. Now i took it out and replaced it with a check valves, and hopefully it wont smell anymore. And i took the AC lines out and tucked the wires under the injectors and man does it look good with the harness under the rail.:thumb:
