Hi i don't think it matters but will the whole awd swap minus tranny from a automatic matter to convert my gst?

If you are doing the awd swap you have to use all automatic parts or all manual parts. No mixing and matching trans and rear diffs.

I know that the auto & manual transfer cases look the same but are different, they have different ratios. Make sure that you get all the conversion parts from the same donor vehicle whether it`s manual or auto so that the tranny/t-case/ & rear diff all go together . . .

Yes make sure you get all parts from an auto or a manual to do the swap. One of my friends did this swap awhile back and mixed parts a couple times and blew the diffs and trannies and he had all kinds of problems. He finally got it all figured out by the 3rd time and then he was an idiot and traded the car in on a Golf, we still give him shit for that. But yeah just make sure you have all the right parts and get it done right the first time, triple and quadruple check everything before you go to drive it the first time.

What makes it different the driveshaft still goes down the same way and bolts up to the rear end I didn't see a differnce in the chiltions manual except transmissions I found a awd rollin chassis minus engine and tranny for 700

So its not worth it just find a manual awd then ? I kust saw for 700 it would be nice to go awd with 4piston brakes and some black leathers and get rid of my grey cloth. I guess ill have let it go and find something else then

i converted my 97gst auto to a manuel so when i get my 95awd tsi donnor car does it matter if i get the manuel awd tsi. im pretty sure it doesnt matter, but i thought i would ask the professionals dsm tunners

it not hard. its impossiable, i have a boosted 420a and trust me if you wont awd then you need to get a 4g63.
