Ok so I have two greddy type s Bovs in my possession and upon looking at them I have noticed at least two differences. One is that the top nipple on one is bigger than on the other and two the diaphram on one has like a little slit in the middle and the other is perfectly flat. Do these differences have any effect on how the Bov would function?

I owned a Greddy S at one time. The original Greddy has a smaller top nipple and the fake ones have the bigger one. Do you have a picture of the top of the BOVs?

Here is a picture of the diaphram on the one with the big nipple and a picture of the top of the bovs next to each other. (The little nipple bov is now on the flange and is sitting higher than the bov with the big nipple so you don't get confused) They also both have the greddy stamp on the bov housing

Hmm... interesting. From the top, they look exactly the same. Open it up and see what the diaphragm looks like.

Here are some pics of a Type S diaphragm. The part number for the Type S is 99900061 and Type R is 99900062.

P.s. - Why did Greddy spell Diaphragm spelled wrong in the pic below?

Then they are both authentic Type S bovs. :thumb:

To answer your question, no the larger nipple or the slit at the bottom doesn't make any difference in the operation of the bov.

For what it's worth--

I have to do the same thing to my Type-S BOV from GReddy as has been done in the pictures with one having the larger vaccuum nipple. When I installed my Punishment FMIC kit the BOV sat too high and when I closed my hood the nipple bent and broke off. All I did was find another fitting that fit the thread pattern and screwed it in. It's a thicker vaccuum line then the original one, but from what I've heard that can also help increase response from the BOV. Not really sure, but that might be what happened with that one.
