Was going to originally ask for thoughts but I figured it out and thought I should share. Hope it's in the right spot, feel free to move the post.

So 2 weeks ago I was driving my car, like normal and all of a sudden when I would shift into any gear I got a lot of resistance (with car running or off), Like their was gum stuck somewhere. So I parked it and waited for a time to look at it.

With some reading about hard shifting, figured it could be my cables, front motor mount, or something with my tranny.

Then last weekend Proceeded with removing my shifter cables from tranny and went about moving shifter. I was so glad it still gave me a lot of resistance when moving shifter. This told me it was not inside the tranny. On a whim I ordered new short shifter as the one I got, I found in a junk yard and got it for 10 bucks. When i removed it I found this.

The bearing inside the shifter fell apart when removing. You can see pieces on the table. Any one else ever have this? I don't shift like a kind beating his junks, normally just joy riding as I have a work truck for a DD and I have 136k on car.

Just thought I should share my story, as it may pop up. Luckily it was an easy fix. :dsm:
