I have a 95 Talon TSI with only a K+N Cone Filter and all the free mods. I just bought a test pipe to replace the converter on my car. Will I notice a difference in power? Pull? Are there any dyno figures on this mod?
thanks everyone!

you will prob not notice much - a little more smoke will come out (normal w/o a cat)
maybe some flames now and then. You will get some extra sound from the exhaust.
Its prob 5 h/p at the most.

Odds are if you just swaped the t/p in and thats it you will get a CEL

If you remove the cat then no shop will touch your exhaust.I put a test pipe on my car and later on I wanted a new muffler and no one in town will do it so I rented a welder and did it myself.

typically you are supposed to work your way from the back of the car to the front. You should however gain an extra couple hp because of the restriction the stock cat causes.

GOD!! This is one reason why I just love Arkansas, we have no inspections (yet) I have a 3 inch turbo back with test pipe. and You really do feel the difference, If you have the stock downpipe, replace it. it will make more of a difference. :thumb:

Yeah, luckily I own a repair shop and have my Inspection licence. Therefore a test pipe will not be an issue. I plan on a full 3" system by spring.

I have a question eguarding this, the 2g's throw a CEL when removing cat because they have a o2 sensor in the cat or after correct?

You'll notice the flow increase when you obtain and install a larger DP and straight through cat back system (assuming you don't have these items, I didn't check your profile.)

My 2G does not throw a code with a test pipe installed.

The shop that installed mine, plugged the downstream O2 sensor and just attached it to the side of the exhaust. I haven't had a problem with it, I did at one time throw a CEL, but it was the upstream sensor, which i replaced.
