New test pipe replacing cat, bad gas mileage

I was wondering if these two could linked together. I just had my cat removed for a test pipe this past weekend and am starting to notice pretty bad gas mileage (worse than before) and i was thinking maybe taking the cat off made my car run rich now?

Removing the cat and putting a test pipe on wont make your car run rich or get bad gas mileage it will just make your enissions go to shit. The only thing I can think of at the moment that could cause your car to run rich or bad milage, is if you took the recirculation hose of the BOV and vent to atmosphere with out having a GM MAF, also a few other things that couyld cause it but lest see what others have to say.

I'm not sure how it works on the 2g, but I know that there is a little wire braided strap hanging down from the underbody of the car that attaches to the dp - cat area. I've heard that when gotten rid of, people claim bad gas mileage. It's a ground to the o2 sensor. The reason I say I'm not sure how it works for the 2g is that they have 2 o2 sensors, and I'm not sure where your grounds are.

hey, hagte to bring up an old thread i guess, but i put on a 3inch catles ehxaust dp and all. My gas mileage was cut in half, black smoke, higher cruise rpms (2g a/t gsx), etc. I dunno wut the heck is going on... please fill me in if u ahve solved this issue with no cat.. thanks
