Hello, I recently bought a 97 eagle talon that got side swiped and am looking to replace the passenger side quarter panel. I know that it is welded to the frame. I have a grinder and a welder and have found a new quarter panel paint matched already. Could someone tell me how to remove the panel and where to cut? is there a DIY out there?

Any help would be great thanks :thumb:

EDIT: the guy that had the quarter panel for me fell throw

It's not an easy job. IIRC, you'll need to remove the glass, drill out all the spot welds, then chisel it off. Then weld the new one on. Alternatively, you can use body panel glue to put the new one on. [ame=http://youtu.be/UP9DeuHDbkk]LevineAutoParts.com | 3M Automix Panel Bonding Adhesive - YouTube[/ame]

Also want to use a frame rack just incase the damage is worse off than the eye can see.

Something a body shop can do for you to make sure your chassis isnt tweaked.

Update:
I have removed the quarter panel its all the way out. Does anyone know where i can find a new one? I have looked everywhere and automotix is the only place that sales them but they won't ship it :banghead: if anyone knows thanks!!

Yup, junkyard or a parts car off craigslist. Gotta pull it off the same way without tweaking it and re-install onto yours.

I am an auto body tech have you tried calling keystone, lkq, and wheelers? If so maybe a dealer can get them I know my shop still does from somewere. When you install the new one I would fit it on then drill holes to run screws in to hold it in place then remove it and use 3m 8115 panel bond to glue it one. When it's fully cured seam seal the tail light/ bumper area as so no water can get in. Then do the filler work on the jams. And paint it. If you plane to just glue or weld one of same color on sad to say it will not look like original at least someone who knows what to look for will tell. If you have any questions feel free to message me and I can walk you threw it.

I thought you said in your first post you already found one paint matched? (Not that paint match matters in this case)

I did at the time and when i asked the guy for it he never respond and have never been able to find one after that. Sorry i should edit that first post i forgot about it LOL
