I've been searching on google for a while, and have yet to find a replacement oil dipstick...anyone know a good place? checked all the usual parts places so far...my oil dipstick lifts up under boost, and all i found so far is this

STM: SPRUNG OIL DIPSTICK | 90-99 DSM

which i'd rather not get...because it seems pretty....stupid? a spring holding the dipstick down? LOL.

A quick fix is to put a hose clamp sound the end of the dipstick tube and then loop a zip tie around its head and through the dipstick handle to hold the dipstick in place.

Personally I would rather keep my dipstick in place rather than have it blow out and spew oil onto my exhaust manifold and catch fire.

Buy a 1g dipstick. The handle is metal and won't snap like the cheap 2g handle. JNZ Tuning is where I got mine.

I could've sworn I checked on there...I must have spelled it wrong, like an idiot or something simple. I took into consideration the crankcase pressure, but i can slide the dipstick out with zero effort at all, I swear the wind could lift my dipstick up if the hood was opened.

You should've seen my face when I pulled out of a parking lot and did a little 1st/2nd gear pull(got tired of waiting for 10min at a parking lot, and just pulled out quick) and the dipstick lifted and sprayed who knows how much oil onto the manifold, but smoke POURED in through the heat vents....i just sat there in horror...nobody expects a oil dipstick lifting and spraying oil onto the manifold, so I assumed the worst.

Throw a US Plastics check valve in the pcv line. Replace/clean the pcv valve while you're at it too. If that doesn't fix your problem, you've got much bigger crankcase pressure issues.

I'll also do that, thanks. I'm in the process of replacing the head, balance shaft elimination, replacing all the gaskets/seals and EGR delete now, so i'll just toss that onto the list of things to do.

Exactly. I was buying the 2G dipsticks 2 at a time from JNZ tuning. The heat just cooks the plastic handle and so Paul there told me to just get the 1G dipstick, but because it's all metal, it will get hot!

I think I might already have a 1G dipstick, the end of it's metal, and I have to wrap something around the end of it because it gets so hot(and it's metal)

For what it's worth the hose clamp and zip tie setup I've been using on my car for 13 years without fail. Don't see why I'd waste money on a welded spring setup. That's 11 years on the street and 2 years now as a race car.
