If you're looking for a direct replacement, the SOHC Neon blocks have different pistons... it'll still work, but it's something to keep in mind.95-99 Neon (SOHC or DOHC), Avenger and Sebring of the same years also have the same 420a.
You can also just buy two sets of 96-99 bearings and use the properly notched ones from both sets. You will probably have a difficult time finding main bearings for the 95, or they will send you 96-99 main bearings and tell you they are for the 95. You would need to notch the block for them to fit.
I think "easy" is an overstatement.2.4L blocks from cloud cars will also fit, with a bit of modification. (our only easy swap)

Compared to other swap "options" we are asked about all the time, (4g63, Avenger V6, B18, and other such non-sense.) the 2.4 is very doable.i didnt know that ignition timing played such a huge role, i personally dont know how to tune ignition timing but does that sound true that it was timing that caused all this damage?
hope nobody else out there has my problems!Few things;sad thing is this fully built motor only had 4000k's on it but oh well time for rebuild.
ya well its fully built with portfueler fuel system, just gotta get all the ignition timing done thats all, but its ok learned my lesson.
u have to go get yourself a msd ignition system
i'm lost which cars 2.4 block would fit our heads?
