Replaced rod bearings, high oil pressure

Long story short I spun a rod bearing in my 7bolt. I am in the middle of building a 6bolt engine but in the mean time I thought I would try a little experiment and replace the rod bearings in this 7bolt and see how far it took me. Nothing else has been changed on the engine aside from all new rod bearings. Now I go to start the engine up, oil pump is primed, and I get over 100 psi of oil pressure.

I killed the engine and did about an hours worth of searching and didn't find much besides the fact the BSE will raise it. So I went ahead and started it again and let it warm up a little this time, now the pressure will fall back to about 70 psi at 1500 rpm idle, still no good. Its about 40 degree out here right now and I'm running 10w-30 because I had some cheap stuff laying around and I planned on changing the oil in 50 miles anyways, but I don't think 10w over 5w would make that significant of a change to my oil pressure.

Then I went ahead and took it down the road and back and it wants to idle at 35 psi, and then climbs to 80 psi when I get on it.

Bearings aren't oversized.

Has anybody ever ran into an issue like this?

What were the pressures like before you replaced the rod bearings?

Oil pressure gauge didn't come until after the bearing spun, but stock gauge told me it was a little low at idle, and then within normal ranges while driving it.

that kinda of oil pressure isnt necessarily a bad thing, unless your popping seals out and such. Go with the flow bro, .

Did you do a bse at the same time? Sounds normal that's what I was getting after my bse install without porting my oil relief port in the ofh .
