After trying 3 different gaskets, and two different manifolds i still get the leak at the exact spot. I tried using new nuts and washer, nothing. Same spot always leak. I am using a composite type gasket. Metal ones doesnt seal right away.
I am ruling out the manifold, because i tried two manifolds. And even if they were warped, what the chance that the leak at the exact same position. Could it be a warped exhaust port? No one heard of this problem before. It a pain because now my fuel trim is all whacked out and the car runs like crap.

It is exhaust to head. I am currently using a composite type gasket, which is suppose to seal much better than a metal gasket. If i use the two layer metal gasket, it leaks all over. With 3 layers, it would most likely still leak. I can see where the exhaust flange it not mating with the gasket, but i tried two different manifolds, i never heard of a exhaust port on the head warping either.

It is most likely time to test the manifold and if necessary the cylinder head with a straight edge to verify their flatness.

I am going to assume that all of the exhaust manifold studs are in good condition and capible of & being tightoned properly?

You may also want to check to make sure that there are no other objects that are preventing the exhaust manifold from being tightoned properly.

I wonder if you have a stripped head threads.

I know of one stripped one. But it’s all the way on the other side. Everyone is saying check the studs, which I will do now. A friend told me that one of the stud, possibly is not all the way in the head, so when you torque it down, it locks prematurely. I was going to replace all the studs, but they look like a pain to come out, and if the snap or strip in the head, that’s even worst.
