How do you remove the trim pieces on a 2g Eclipse? The ones I want to remove are the green (actually chromalusion) trim pieces around the HVAC, center A/C vents, and the mirror controls. How do you remove them? Do I need to remove the entire dash?
Thanks!

for the ac vent, mirror controls and trim above the center console, use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off, ,youll think its gonna break but it will pop out,

i believe you have to take out the stereo, and brackets and it will drop down. Im not positive tho. Thats one of the few pieces ive never taken out.

Would the up trim pieces above the center consule be the trim around the knobs for the A/C? Thanks.

Anyone? I need to know how to do this so I can repaint them for the NHRA Import Drag race show this weekend.
And the cup holder pops out too?
Thanks!

Just pull on it. It will feel like it's about to break and snap into a million peices, but it should pull right out.

Same deal witht he cupholder. It shoudl pull right out, its stubborn, but it'll pull out.

uh, NO! dont remove the stereo, if u do that, take off your rims, take out ur tail lights and also unhook all yor brake hoses and engage the e-brake. tch! Heres some photos to help you along. First picture is for the HVAC panel. Find a plastic putty knife, its a bit better, screwdrivers can scratch the panel. Put the knife/screwdriver under the panel from where im showing in that direction, twist it and lift. The corner comes up, when it does, put your finger in there and take out the knife/screwdriver. It wont pinch you hard, dont worry. Lightly lift the panel more and put the screwdriver inbetween the panel and dash where u see the crease on my photo, between dash and console panel, it'll hold that end up. Do the same on the other top corner. Try not to bend the panel backwards, you may snap it or deform it. Lify up the bottom corners of the panel and remove it. Its held in with fasteners, it'll pop back in easy. :thumb:

allrighty, now the center vents. Start on the passenger side. Put a screwdriver under the part where im showing and carefully lift it a little bit. Move over to the other side, do the same. Do not pull hard, the vents will come out with that panel and snap off the little plastic rods that control the vents closing and openeing. You will need to carefully pull it straight out and guide it not to pull the vents with it, push them back. Pull in small increments, try to pull both sides as even as possible. heres photos where to put the screwdriver.

Cupholder part is the easiest. its a single piece. its red on mine, you'll see. As most panels, fasteners. pretty easy to pull. Grab it by the rear corner with your hand. Firmly pull up. Pull in the direction of the arrows.

next slide your fingers along the line where the arrow goes towards the front and lift it up.

The piece comes out whole like in the photo. Then when its done push it back in straight down. The 4 fasteners snap back into the slots and ur set :thumb:
