im installing my prothane motor mounts.

i unbolted the mount on the tranny side and see that ill have to lower the tranny some more to get the mount off, can this be done by also removing the lower front mount instead of removing the lower back one, when i searched i saw that most of you removed the back one to get it to lower more, but i was just wondering, thx

If you pulled the two bolts holding the mount to the tranny, you can go from inside the pass. side wheel well and pull the 4 rubber caps and pull the bolts that are behind it and it will slide right out.

the way my mount is, it has the bolts coming straight up from the tranny and through the mount, and the mount is then held to the frame, i cant slide it out unless the tranny drops far enough that the bolts are out of the way then i can slide it right out...

and when i let down my jack the tranny didnt come down far enough so i was wondering if i could lower it more by removing the front mount instead of the back mount, because its easier to get to

hah i just proved my newbie"ness"

just removed the cam side mount and jacked up at the oil pan and the tranny side slid right out LOL thanks for the help guys

Glad you got it. I was just saying that when I have to remove it I just take out the 4 from the frame, and the 2 holding it to the tranny and the whole mount comes out. :thumb:

any info about getting the back one out? i see there are two bolts holding it to the frame and i got one of them off, but the other one on the other side seems hard to get to, and the through bolt wasnt a problem

1G and 2G mounts are completely different. The back mount is a complete PITA, undoing the mount from the tranny and installing the inserts then sliding the mount back over them and bolting it back to the tranny is about the easiest way. Be prepared to cuss and come out with bloody knuckles.
