So, I am pulling my engine and I need the halfshafts out. I have removed the nut from the low control arm where it attaches to the knuckle and I am not able to separate the two. And to make it clear, I've used a pickle fork with a hammer, a pickle fork on my air hammer, I've used the appropriate tool from my front end puller set, and I've even jacked up the car, by the knuckle on my lift, taking the weight off the lower control arm, and tried everything again. No luck...

Anyway, I'd rather cut my losses on that and just remove the other end of the control arm from the car. I just wanted to run that past people who have perhaps does this before. So any reason why it won't work? I just need to be able to move the knuckle enough to get the halfshafts out.

I usually disconnect the strut tower and then the tie rod end and this allows me to get enough bend from the knuckle and the cv to remove the CV. The passenger CV i also usually have to put a large clamp around to pry against to put it out of the transmission due to the locking ring.

Yup, done the pry bar before... I guess I'll try your approach. Tie rod and strut tower.
