removing cruise control on 1g

I want to remove my cruise control on my 92 talon tsi,anybody have a write-up on how to remove cruise control on a 1g,thanks

Easiest thing to do is get a non cruise control cable from ebay or someone. The rest is easy, just unbolt the relating componets.

Yeah my talon came with a non cruise control cable already,the first owner put in a after market cruise control,so basically just remove any thing related to the cruise control right?

Step 1: Remove your cruise box from the firewall (or right inner fender on a 1990 model) and remove all of the cables including the one going through the firewall and connecting to the pedal.

Step 2: Install one of these in place of the cruise cable, and adjust to verify that closed throttle = 0% and WOT = 100% on the TPS: OEM Non Cruise Control Throttle Cable

i would just yank all the cruise related stuff out.

That would be all fine-n-dandy unless you actually want to DRIVE the car.

1G's are a little different than 2G's....you can't just remove the components and roll on. The factory cable comes out of the firewall and loops into the cruise box first, then continues back to the throttle body:

I found a 1g non-cruise cable for about $3 at the jyard. Took all of about 5mins to install as well.
