Ok so Im removing my ballance shafts on the 6-bolt Im rebuilding and Ive heard some people say that the oil pump can go due to not being supported on one side from the ballance shafts. This goes out to the people who have done it> Have you had any problems with your oil pump and how many miles have you gone so far without ballance shafts?

Hows the vibration? I heard it isnt too bad.

Im really concerned about this oil pump thing though:confused:

Only got a vibration from 3200-3400 RPM's. Don't know of oil pump problems, haven't heard of anybody's going out. If you are worried, there are some people that cut their rear shaft so that it was supported by one bearing and didn't use a stub shaft. If you go that route, you could just leave the front shaft in, leave the belt off and not need the kit.

How noticeable was the vibration you got between those RPM's?

And yeah Ive heard of that cutting the ballance shaft thing, Ill have to look into it

Only feel a little vibration in the pedal, it's not like the whole car shakes or anything. Four cylinder engines are pretty balanced just by design, the only reason for the balance shafts is to smooth out that little bit of vibration for customers(even though most would probably never notice it)

No problems - about 15K on mod - I think Tabboo did a big dissertation on this subject on the other Forum - Seems like the primary reasons for most of those failures was improper re-assembly of Oil Pump and/or failure to inspect Oil Pump case - Failure to use Mirage Shaft to save the whopping $16 - Guys running 10K rpm on extremely modded motors, etc, etc...
