Removing Balance Shafts, Does Oil Pump still need to be timed?

I was wondering if since there is no balance shaft to run off the oil pump, if the oil pump still needs to be timed. I thought all it was really adjusting was the position of the balance shaft so it made the engine balanced. I thought all the oil pump did was constantly pump oil and had no need to be time, but thats why Im asking, Thanks

If you have removed the rear balance shaft then there isn't anything to correctly time anymore and so the position of the oil pump sprocket doesn't matter.

Thank you! I didnt think the oil pump itself needed to be timed since all it does is constantly pump oil. Thanks again
