removed rear 02 sensor ?

Unscrew the sensor but leave it plugged in. Zip tie the sensor up out of the way and plug the hole with something. An old sparkplug works, or any bolt with the same threads as a sparkplug. Reset the ECU and unless your car is really picky you shouldn't get the CEL again.

Yea, mine is wrapped in tin foil and wedged underneath the car, and works fine.

No, the only thing the secondary O2 sensor does is test the efficiency of the catalytic converter.
