what tools would i need? never removed one before and trying to learn, what else do i need to disconnect etc? i couldnt fnd a video on youtube, turbos shot, gonna see if i can send it to justin to fix but i need to send him pics of it first!

also should i get rallyarmor mudflaps for my GST? i love the look, but obviously it would be for looks mostly since its FWD but opinions on this?

The turbo is mounted to the exhaust manifold by 4 bolts. It's also mounted to the O2 housing by (IIRC) 3 bolts but it would be easier to disconnect the O2 housing at the downpipe instead. There is also the oil inlet (banjo bolt), oil return (2 bolts), coolant in (banjo bolt), and coolant out (banjo bolt). It's pretty self-explanatory once you get a good look at it.

If ya like the flaps getum ..google ikea mudflaps for the cheap version

alrighty thanks!

In case you haven't already tackled it, here's my two cents.

If you want to avoid risking breaking any bolts or snapping any exhaust manifold studs I would disconnect the turbo by the v-band clamp.

Remove the intake pipe completely. Remove the lower intercooler pipe as well as the J pipe (your profile is up to date right?). It might be tough to get the water/oil lines out with the manifold still in there but you're potentially saving yourself a big headache and also saving money on gaskets. Once everything is disconnected, remove the v-band clamp on the turbo and hit it with a soft hammer until it comes loose. Be careful not to bend or damage the turbine fins.

It's kind of a pain to get out of there this way but if you're dealing with some of nature's locktite around your exhaust system I'd definitely do it this way.

As for your mudflaps, I got the Evo XIII ones myself from Rally Armor. Got the idea from Gofer since they look amazing on his car.

well the oil lines are not connected right now to the turbo, and exactly where i got my idea to throw on mudflaps is from that guy!
