Ask Me, Virginia
I am sure that this has been answered before, but I will ask it anyways.

I'd like to know:

1) How hard it is to remove my turbo (I want to inspect it if I can't get to the problem of my boost fade problem).

2) Whether or not removing the exhaust manifold is required to remove the turbo. (Since I have broken studs, I want to remove the exhaust manifold and take care of the broken studs and save turbo inspection for a later date without having to pull the EM again)

Thanks

how do you have 300+ tech posts, and that much done to your car, and you have no idea how to take a turbo off.

start by removing the Intake hose
Rmove the downpipe
Undo the 4 bolts at the top
and remove the water lines
also remove the oil feed that goes to the head try not to lose the washers

This is great. Now I can take care of my exhaust manifold situation independently of my turbo, and worry about the turbo only if necessary.

Thanks!

Your welcome!!!! Good Luck try not to Rush These cars are great cars to work on and build but they require patience and lot of money...LOL

Yes they do, believe me I know. I just haven't messed around with the turbo before. I have had 2 1g's before this. I buy my cars modded and when something breaks I fix it. I don't work from the bottom up but rather from the top down. You are right about the money. I try to avoid driving it so I don't have to fix it. :D Thank you for your patience and consideration.

Why dont you first check it for shaft play?

Also....blkchr please use the search function. I have helped you a number of times in the past already and they were all basic questions that take 2 seconds to search and find.
