hey guys i really never paid attention to it, but i want to fix my cel. it's been on since i've removed my cat and got an apex-i downpipe. how can i keep the downpipe, but stop the cel light going on??

so it says i will eliminate the use of the oxygen sensor...i need a new sensor at the moment any way, cuz it's going bad, does this mean i dont need it any more since i wont be using it?

The second o2 sensor is basically pointless. Especially after removing the cat. Don't replace it if you are going to use a test pipe. The lack of cat will kill it again within a short period of time. :thumb:

The downstream O2 sensor only checks for operation of the catalytic converter. Since you don't have one anymore it will always say the cat is below efficiency. For a cheap fix before you spend money, unscrew the sensor and zip tie it up so it doesn't drag the ground. Plug the hole with something, an old spark plug with the porcelain broken off works well so there isn't a leak and reset your ECU by unplugging the battery. It may or may not come back on depending on how finicky your ECU is. :thumb:

i heard you can use loggin software, so something that hooks up to the ecu to clear those codes for the missing cat...can someone clarify on this...i wud rather go this route than disconnecting my o2 sensor

You can use a logger to clear the CEL but it will keep coming back so you'll need to do it more than once.

you know what guys, i ran my codes and its not actually the downpipe at all. its the trottle position sensor, and ive read threads on that. some say changing it makes no diferrence, some say it does, some say you should recirculate the bov to fix the problem, some say that doesnt help...i got no clue what to do now, cuz its not cheap for a new tps!

If you can't install a TPS and adjust it then you need to sell your car. :nono:

This doesn't help with problem at all and if you have no suggestions/advice about the problem then you shouldn't post in my thread anyway. I have no experience in installing a tps or adjusting it, you seem to know it well. Since you know it so well, why dont u englighten me how to do it instead of killing the thread.

I've seen some on the trader go for as low as 20-30 some I"ve seen for 40-50, You don't need to buy a brand new one.
