Ok ive looked around and cant find my problem or i just dont understand some posts. But anyways i try to start the car (1995 GST) and starter clicks but doesnt spin. If i play with the key tunring it real fast over and over it will some times start right up. The starter is new i just cant seem to find anything. If anyone can tell me what it might be or knows a link to the same problem thats resolved will be appreciated. I need this car ready before march. oh also battery is new, battery cables are new, ground is good.

If you can turn the key forward and hear the starter solenoid on top of the starter click, and it doesn't turn over, I'd venture to guess the starter is likely the culprit. next time try beating on it with something hard to see if that gets it to turn over.

had starter tested its good, and it will turn over if i move key to start and on real fast

Ignition switch probably then.

Sent from my Droid

New ignition switch today and I already got a new lock and key in it.

UPDATES.

Now after car starts and you rev to 3k+ rpm the battery light, brake light, and some orange light by the open doors. Ill take a vid of the problem

*resolved the battery lights and other wanings ect.* was blown alt fuse.

Alright, so its all better now? Was the ignition switch the issue, or just the alt fuse? or both?

No its still not starting right up, but its starting after fewer key turns, but I've come to the conclusion its a short, loose wire, or bad connection

I know the issue isn't ecu power, but I made a nice little flow chart for no starts, might be of some assistance.

Pull your starter relay and check it to see if it cycles properly.

aight im tryin everything before march i have a road trip and dont wanna be outside and havin to play with my key to start it LOL.

also after reading that imma try the anti theft, where is that located?

You got me buddy, I don't own one! PM keeleskustome perhaps and ask him, sorry I can't be very helpful in this aspect.

ughhh still not working took out anti-theft fuse and did nothing, im probly going to have to break down and get a new wireing harness for it, i am begining to belive there is a short in one of the wires.

its probably the starter . they can still test good if theyre bad
i did same thing with mine. i tried all kinds of crap . took it to advanced they said starter was fine.
i bought a new one anyway and it fixed it. also test your battery because a bad starter solenoid can drain your battery i went through 3 of them before i found out it was my starter draining the battery when the car was shut off.

a new harness probably won't fix your issue.......... i didn't have any luck with mine.

Why was this blown anyways.... Does it not sound strange to have that big of a fuse blown for no reason?

Where does everybody get off thinking that a new harness is the answer? You have 1 bad connections/wire, and now ripping the car apart is the end all? I think not. Its more likely to make more issues, due to the likely hood of missing one small important thing, like a ground.

There is such a simple system here its ridiculous not to be able to figure it out. Get out a test light, or a multimeter and see if you have voltage at the starter solenoid when turned to crank.

....\/ start here checking............................................................\/ end here.
solenoid->wire->relay->wire->ignition switch->wire->fuse-> battery.
