I know there are enough dsmers in the South Bay to be able to get a local regular meet going. I was kind of hinting at this on the "Sightings" thread, but it got deleted, probably due to the server upgrade.
All I want to know is who would be available to regularly meet? I know we are notorious for our once-a-year-Bay Area meets, so I think we should start small and try to organize a more local meet (like the San Jose to Union City area) so it won't be such a let down to others who are willing to come out when no one does.
Not that I think we should exclude everybody else, but I don't think it's worth it for someone from 'Frisco to drive all the way down to San Jo when nobody shows up. I think if we start local, it won't be that big of a deal if no one can make it.
Who in the South Bay can make it to a regular meet? And by regular meet, I don't mean a set date and time for every meet, but maybe a regular meet (like once a week/month) with little planning. Like for example, "Hey guys, let's have a meet up here at XXX at around XXX am/pm next week..."
It shouldn't possibly be this hard to get a local meet started. I know everybody has there own thing to do and stuff, but just in general, if you were free to go to a meet, would you actually go?
I want to get a feel for how many guys are interested in meeting up. I've tried doing this before and I already know it's a hit or miss situation.
I've tried going to meets (not dsmers) that are already happening/meeting regularly, and for me it's kind of weird since I don't know anybody. It would be neat to have a regular dsm meet.
So who in the South Bay thinks they can meet on a semi-regular basis? I'm usually free on Sunday afternoons.
Of course this is just my opinion, if anybody has any other suggestions, just post.
