Red line MT-90 Tranny fluid

Should be fine unless you have problems grinding into gear. Then you might want to thin it out a little with some MTL.

I'm using a mix of 2/3 MT-90 and 1/3 MTL. It's working great in my FWD. Much better than the BG Synchromesh II that I was using previously.

MTL=Manual Transmission Lubricant. Both MTL and MT-90 are made by Redline. MTL has lower viscosity (slightly thinner) than MT-90.

Red Line Oil: Gear Lubricants

The mixture I mentioned is fairly common and seems to offer a good balance between smooth upshifts as well as downshifts when a slightly thicker (more friction) oil will allow the synchros to do there job better.

If you buy the Redline fluid replacement kit, you will actually get two quarts of MT90 and one of MTL to get the correct viscosity. It is pretty simple to do, put in the quart of MTL, then top off with the MT90. You also get 75W90 for the differential and TC.

I would go with Redline MT-90 in the transmission, Redline Heavyweight Shockproof in the transfer case and the rear end.

This is all I run in my car. After talking with a local DSM'er that rebuild transmission for these cars. I wouldnt run anything but this combo.

So you guys recommend ONLY MT-90 or a MIX of MT-90 and MTL?

I have a 99 GSX with 140k miles. I feel very slight grinds but I think I have to rebleed my system again.

Also, since these oils are synthetic, do I have to worry about fluid leaking through the seals with a tranny with this many miles?

Okay I didnt wanna start a new thread on this so I figuired I would ask. I read somewhere that Redline 75w90 was great for lsd rear diff's. I just swapped a lsd unit in my 95 Talon and I just wanted to make sure I got the right stuff. Or should I send it back and get the Shockproof, lightweight or heavyweight?

And +1 on the Mt-90, that stuff is great for synchro's. Ill never use anything else!!

Thanks guys

I used a combo of 2 quarts MTL and .5 quart of sychromess before, it worked well.
I since switched to amsoil MTG and it shifts even better than redline.
