I was wondering if anyone has used this fluid in our MT's?

I have an 05 Acura TL 6spd, I was on the acura forums and the honda guys are raving about this stuff and how good it is...

Its GM part #12377916 compared to GM part #12345349, which is the regular syncromesh we use in our trannys.

I did a search on the forums and couldnt find a single post about this fluid.

I had to order 6qts from gmpartsdirect.com to change the fluid in my TL, they sell it by the box. I was considering using the spare 3 qts for my dsm once i get it back on the road.

I read your post and instantly felt like this
Till I saw your edit :thumb:

I knew someone would respond that way, thats why I put FRICTION MODIFIED in the title and provided 2 different part numbers :thumb:

Anyway, according to the honda forums this stuff is the way to go, supposedly better than the regular syncromesh...

All of the "synchro" oils work by increasing the friction between the synchronizer, and gear. This allows the synchro to do it's work better, it basically a brake. However, this also increases the friction in the bearings, and gears, which are already living on the edge in a dsm transmission.

Thanks for the input, so would a friction modified fluid be a better or worse thing for our transmissions?
