I just bought a HKS SSQV BOV im throwing it on my 95 tsi awd. I was adviced to recirculate it but I honestly dont want the pshh sound to be gone. I heard that with some tuning I can make the car run good even thou I will loose the air which the computer is counting on. Am I right or wrong and what are the pros and cons to a open BOV:confused:

Oh and im hoping to get 350hp ... doubt that makes any diffrence anyways.............

I read on import tuner a couple years back that recreating could gain you +1hp. It's a minimal gain/loss either way. Correct me if I am wrong.

Recirculating will add 100whp. Just do it.

Why would you want the chance of your car running like shit? For a cool swoosh sound?

Here is what the SSQV sounds like recirculated.

Its not that I want it running like shit, Ive heard you can accurately tune it to where you can run it open without any problem... my real question then would be is that true or not??

yes its true if you want to run a gm maf with a translator. it barely a tune at all though. a lot of people run a safc to help dial it in a little more. it you want to pay a little more, you can run ecmlink and get a better tune. id rather do that than run nothing at all and take the chance of your car running like $h!t.

Yes definately running a ecmlink on it. So that should basicaly solve that right. Or am i still gonna need that gm maf too??

Another one of these threads?? Jesus hit the search button and there will be 2654654646534132 threads pertaining to this.. It just starts arguements and makes people butt hurt when they're wrong

i'd still run the gm maf with link. you can get a gm cable with the program. btw, you'll need an eprom also. it's the greatest thing ever

Just recirculate it, please. This is one of the most asked questions on here. If and when you decide to run a gm maf with translator or speed density, then you can vent it. Until then, don't do it, period.

I bet you'll like the sound of compressor surge too n00b

Yes im not gonna just vent it just like that. Everything on my car is being done right. So those are the things i need to be able to run it vented and not have a ny problems with it then??

Yes you can tune the car to run correctly with an atmospheric BOV. You need a gm blow through maf or a speed density setup.
