rebuilt engine/trans question

already searched im looking at a car with a 6bolt rebuilt engine and rebuilt shep trans i read you can pull oil pan and look at bottom of pistons but he said it has 1g rods and 2g pistons ...but no receipts what should i be looking for to make sure its done since no receipts and said prev owner did it shortly before he got it.

any compression numbers to check or way to identify 1g rods or 2g piston bottoms?



also how can i identify shep trans without pulling from car?

Never had a shep tranny, just tre, for the pistons, maybe do a search for how to tell differneces.

Pulling the pan seems like alot of trouble to go through, I would ask if the seller can give you the previous owners contact information.

The last tranny i bough was rebuild also, lasted a few weeks, wasnt touched. So I learned a lesson, it is my hard earned money here, not trusting anyone with no proof.
