Rebuilding a 20g - help sort through some options

Looking at picking up a rebuilt 20g that has a TD06 cover + TD05H Turbine. I can get a different turbine...

I've read some really positive things about the TD06H...any thoughts on going with one of these instead of the standard TD05H?

Can also choose between and internal v. external wastegate. I've read through a large number of these threads and for me it's really just coming down to cost and my goals - not thinking i'll really need to go with an external WG with my HP goals (300-350).

Finally, what would be the difference between having a 2.25" inlet v a 3" inlet.

In my French head and for your HP goal an 16G EVO 3 is sufficient, with a better spool compared to a 20G ...

For your goals stay with the td05h unless you want more power plus lag, the bigger inlet will allow your turbo to take in more air resulting in more airflow with the correct matching intake pipe.

I've been through quite a few of these threads and have basically come to two conclusions...

The TD05H is plenty fun, spools like a 16g, but just keeps pulling in the high end.

If I want something a little nastier for future growth, the TD06H can be a beast

As for the inlet size, bigger is better assuming it is matched to the intake I have?

Also what type of fuel? Pump gas? I personally would run something similar in size to a fp green being your fwd and if running pump(91octane)

Talking about the differences between an 2.4 and 3" inlet for a 20g between Justin and myself awhile ago.

You'll never notice a seat-of-the-pants difference in compressor cover selection....especially between the two covers I've illustrated above. The 3" cover is just more popular for hybrids because there is more machinable surface without weakening the inlet.
