This is my first post here so be gentle.

I bought a 95 Talon TSI Turbo that had a little engine noise then an engine fire. That noise turned out to be 2 & 3 rod caps coming loose and puting 2 holes in the block and screwing the whole bottom end. Which I assume turned into a fire that burned up part of the harness and vacuum lines. I went into the deal planning on a new engine.

I'd like to find a rebuildable core, but they seem few and far between. I don't mind spending the $ on an import engine, but I don't trust the importers. I've read some pretty shady stuff about a few of them and was hoping for a lead on a reputable source. Otherwise I'm stuck finding a rebuildable core. Thanks for your help.
