I have a 93 Talon TSi and the timing jumped and pistons hit the valves. I am wondering if it owuld be better for be to buy a engine off this sight as posted in the marketplace (which one would be the best bang for your buck?) or if i should spend the money on rebuilding the motor i have. I would deficately do intake and injectors no matter which way i go and i would do a spark tech ignition (are these ignitions any good). I am also planning on putting a Garret 50 trim turbo on so I am just wanting to know which route woule be better for me.

If i rebuilt i would convert my seven bolt motor to a six. What would i need to do this.

If i do all this stuff would i need to upgrade anyhting in my tranny or drivetrain? I dont wanna start breaking axles and driveshafts if im running a motor with alot of power.

When i say market place i mean the classifieds portion of this site.
My goal besides running tens is to have a car that i wont blow up and have to spend another six grand on.
Currently no budget.
I will have a shop do the engine swap but i will be doing everything else like tuning and small stuff rom the upgrade paths on this site.
I was told it was better to buy than build.
And i dont plan on racing just want a fast car thats fun to drive yet reliable.

You'll have to clarify some more, when you say "market place" are you talking from a shop/vendors or from the classified?

And whats your goals beside running 10's in the long run?

Are you on a budget or money isn't a problem for you?

Are you/can you do most of the work yourself or will you have a shop doing it for you?

If I were you I'd just find an unmolested 6-bolt and do the swap, and since it's going to be out of the car you could do a B/S delete and some internals/porting etc. if you have the funds.

If you want to go with a race engine I'd consider going with a 2.3l or 2.4l for more torque, but that's just my opinion.

Hope this helps! :thumb:
