well my timing went off and bent some valves. so its time to either rebuild or swap. if i were to rebuild the head is it very time consuming or could i get it done in a weekend?
another question is if i swap out my 7 bolt head for a 6 bolt will it bolt right in without any problems.... i really dont want to drill or tap anything.

It will bolt up but you will have to change a few things. I can rebuilt it off the car in about 2 hours so with SOME mechanical knowledge and the right tool you would do it too. Take as much out as you can on the car, cams, rockers, lifters, then take the valvesprings out off the car as well as the valve's. Here is a site on how to clean and bleed your lifters and the tool you can make for taking out valvesprings.

If I was concerned with all out performance, I would use this an an opportune time to swap for a 1G head and intake manifold/throttlebody setup (just make sure you get the CAS with the head). But if I just wanted to get the car up and running just rebuild the head. That's my input ;)
