Does 4500 seem like a reasonable offer for this car?

I'd offer $500 max.

Pricing a car over the internet is like marrying someone after one phone call. You could do it, but it'd be pretty stupid.

Take the car to a mechanic, have him do a full check-up. Check out the KBB value. Then make an offer.

How much too take it to a mechanic? How long will it take?

1. Less than replacing that fragged whatever he notices if you pay full.

2. Depends on the mechanic. Call and set something up.

3. Don't take it to just any mechanic, go to one you trust. If you don't have one, ask around. Even if he costs you $100 and you end up NOT buying the car, it could save you several thousand down the road.
