What's a reasonable goal to shoot for if I plan to keep my 7bolt as long as I can?

I really wanted to get an 8 Blade Hx35 with the twin scroll housing/mani and try to see where 20-24 psi gets me.

Engine Spec's:
-120k 7bolt motor (re-ringed and new bearings at 80k)
-Stock Rebuild Head @ 80k
-ARP Headbolts on OEM composite

Is it reasonable? Or do you think it's pushing it? I know there are 500+ whp 7bolts but this will be DD.

Question is,is this practical? will my block be able to take the stress being DD? I rarely drive with a heavy foot so it won't see too much abuse.

I just want a little assurance that if I bump up the boost I'm not going to blow a rod through the block.

Also, I'm currently running a 16g. Close to maxing 550s at 16psi, I don't know if it's even worth going bigger if my block can't take it.

Im shooting for 300 hp on my build with stock internals other then injen valves. Think about it for a second, an STI weighs approx. 3300 lbs and pushes 300 hp...we (gst owners) come in at roughly 2700 lbs..thats a huge difference in weight and you should easily be able to walk around them, while still having a reliable and predictable DD. That is after all what all dsm guys are after right? whipping the scooby's :)

i like scooby's but having a 15 year old DSM suprise them every once in a while is definitely a nice feeling :thumb:

Had to chime here I am so tired of seeing honda's trying to race every second and they don't even move when they floor it.The only other really competition is the wrx for us, and I love giving them a woopin!

The DA tables are ignored in closed loop; the ECU will still try to target 14.7:1. Changing the OL thresholds just changes when the ECU drops in and out of closed loop. You have to lock the ECU in open loop in order to use the DA tables for tuning at idle and low loads.

With a simulated WB in Link (or a dedicated WB with this feature), you can change the NB switching threshold to something other than 14.7, but that's about it.

Gah. :ohdamn:

Yes this is correct. I am not sure how I intended to word that earlier, but it was misleading at best.

I spend most of the time locked in open loop.

I know what you mean, ive always wanted an sti (who doesnt) or an evo (again who wouldnt like one) but ill love the feeling when i get to see em in the rearview. I have a 95 escort gt thats cammed, intake and a few other bolt ons and a full weight reduction inside, rear seats, plastics, seatbelts, even the radio is out, and the only thing in my glove box is paperwork, and i love the look i get when i beat most v6's and most civics...did i mention its PINK with a big a$$ apexi muffler hanging out the back LOL...

So to clarify, I am not wanting 500hp, more like 300ish. The 500 in my post was refering to cars like Cory of STM's Talon. So Most people agree that it should hold? Also, the reason I wanted to use the holset is 1. It's "safer" correct? 2. On a FWD I wanted a bit slower/laggier spool, but I liked the twin scroll beacuse I don't want insane slow because it's DD.
