rear wiper delete question

Hey guys I am wanting to do a rear wiper delete on my 97 tsi AWD. I was trying to just pop the wiper arm assembly off and couldnt seem to get it to budge, even with pb blaster.

My rear wiper motor doesnt work anyway, could I jus take a dremel tool or something similar and cut the arm off where it attaches to the motor? Shouldnt that let me get the wiper motor off so I can install my wiper delete grommet?

I had to heat mine slightly while wiggling it back and forth to get it off. Its AL and the stud is steel so expansion will do its job. The biggest PITA is getting the interior plastic back in place.

There is a cover at the base of the wiper. Remove that and then remove the nut and wiggle to remove.

What sort of grommet Are you using to plug the hole and make it water tight? I need to find something for my rear spoiler holes if i decide to remove it on track days.

I bought a grommet/plug set awhile ago and picked one from there. It seals it from rain water. Yes my car is dirty..

You can go to a honda dealership and get part number 82871-671-000 it will fit perfectly into the wiper arm hole and it only costs a couple bucks.

I already have taken the nut off and sprayed it with pb blaster and was wiggling and prying and the damn arm still wouldnt come off. I never thought to use heat but that should work , jus have to keep clear of my paint.

I'd have to check my notes but I believe that's the same plug I have in my antenna hole.

Now if I only knew the plug sizes for the factory thumbnail wiper.

It took me like an hour of wiggling it off because it was so rusted. WD-40. Then after I removed mine, I sawed off the wiper and sanded it down and resprayed it.

Any part numbers for the spoiler hole or antenna?

That honda part # will work for the rear wiper hole and antenna hole.

I got my wiper arm off with a couple minutes of heat and wiggling it and it popped off. Wish I would have thought of heat sooner
